| It's no secret that the economy has been on the downside recently. People are getting laid off from work and the prices of commodities like food and gasoline are beyond practical anymore. Vacations are probably the last thing most people would want to take during hard times. So how do you dispose of the timeshare that you bought during better days today? It can be daunting indeed, but not impossible. Here are a few ideas that could help you get back some of the money you paid for it. Offer to Share Your Timeshare - This is a fairly new concept but it might work. We know for a fact that an individual may find the price of the timeshare expensive. So, why not have two or more share the cost of one timeshare? So, two individuals would only pay half of the cost since the price is shared. The only catch is that they have to share the place equally. That's not so hard, is it? What is important from a timeshare resale standpoint is that the property is never without a timeshare occupant. Provide Add-ons - This is another way of attracting potential buyers by giving freebies and bonuses to the prospective buyer. This would provide the feeling that the timeshare is resold at a bargain with more provided at the same price. Some add-ons need not be cost reduction actions, but may even be service-oriented items such as legwork or even cleaning services. Reduce Your Price - What else can be better from a prospective buyer's point of view than a bargain? This is probably the best of the suggestions. There is a belief that timeshares are too costly as a matter of enjoying a vacation and that they are not considered an asset. These are beliefs that can be overcome by providing lowered rates for particular dates. This can possibly attract people to own a timeshare and thus be able to use it as their asset for rest and recreation purposes as well as getting you that sale. Of course, there is no guarantee. In the first place, trying to sell your timeshares could mean that you are unhappy with it. With the number of timeshares that have been sold by developers, it can get very hard if a lot of those people are unhappy with their timeshares as well. It will make selling the timeshare more difficult and time consuming.
